April Taylor is back but she is back with a brand new name and a brand new sound. April Barnes is her new name after marrying the love of her life, Casey in 2014. The couple lives in Bristol, VA and after a 5 year break she is back to making music again! Only this time she is writing and singing Contemporary Christian Music. She is releasing a new album in 2018!
The Former Nashville Recording Artist is no stranger to the music business. In 2005, she signed a record deal with Plateau Music in Nashville, TN. She began recording Country music with this label and released her first single "Hero at Home" to radio in 2006. This wildly successful single gained both critical acclaim and nationwide radio airplay. Because of that success, April launched a nationwide tour in January 2006 and during the following ten months she performed literally across the country.
From San Diego, CA where she performed aboard the USS Berkley docked in the San Diego Harbor, she performed the National Anthem as well as the Halftime show for the San Antonia Spurs in Texas and spending a lot of time in Washington, DC. April was the featured performer at the Pentagon's Night of Hero's Gala on four different occasions. She has worked with Fisher House and Walter Reed Medical Center and has made public appearances all across the country. She also attended the White House Correspondence Dinner as a guest from USA Today, which also featured her in a World Wide article in the Military Times.
She traveled the Country supporting 6 National Radio releases and her CD hit stores in 2007. She was named TOP Female Independent Artist of the Year on Music Row and came in Second for Artist of the Year. Her single "I Wanna Live Like That" hit 21 on the charts.
After a much needed break from the music business April decided to settle back in Bristol, TN. After getting married in 2014 she continued her break enjoying the married life with her new husband and was very content singing on the praise team at her church, and still making a few public appearances on occasion.
In January of 2017 after much prayer, April decided it was time to get back to making music. Only this time, she was going to do the music that God had called her to do. She started writing songs and began recording in late winter early spring and her new album is scheduled to be available late December or early January.
April’s songs were inspired by some difficult struggles she faced with a short battle of depression in 2016. She hopes to be able to touch people with her songs, giving those who are struggling a glimpse of hope and encouragement. April say's this project is different. "It's not about me this time, this is about sharing the news of what an Awesome God we serve! This is His project, He gave me the lyrics to write, I am merely His instrument. I pray that He will use me to help others who are struggling and facing the same battles I faced. I want people to see Him when they see me and hear from Him when I sing!"
She is thrilled to be back singing the music she started out singing many years ago. She is looking forward to what God has in store for her and seeks His guidance everyday. She is ready to be used by Him, using her talent, sharing her talent for only His Glory!
